Santiam Canyon Hasty Team – 07/03/2022

Five members of the Marion County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team patrolled the Highway 22 corridor from about 12pm – 8pm. The goal of the Hasty Team patrol is to provide quick response in areas of the County should the need arise and to engage in public relations with the public. Public contacts and stops along the way included North Fork Road, Salmon Falls, Niagara Road, various County parks, the City of Detroit, and several trailheads on the Willamette National Forest. Hasty teams members are equipped with their standard 24-hour pack including personal gear, and also an advanced medical pack, life jackets, and rope throw bags for water rescue missions.

Additional Hasty Team patrols are scheduled for the year on holiday weekends and other high-recreation days in Marion County.
